Background:
Abandoned by my human mother when I was young, found by a small group of wizards/magi who adopted me (as they saw potential) and took me along with them to the ruins of El-Darn at the base of Mount Gilea where they cleared the ruins, secured the area, made a tower via magic and sequestered themselves away for decades to hone their skills and explore the ruins for recovering lost knowledge (their purpose for travelling here). Made up predominantly of humans and elves, a few dwarves and halflings. Strong and devout believers of Paletius (knowledge, magic and the sun).

70 years later, their group and tower (group known as The Conclave, and tower known as The Spire) is well known to the nearby human populace, who have a somewhat amiable relationship with them (they bring supplies, manual labour for excavation of the ruins, and knowledge of the outside world. This is in return for protection from time to time). The Conclave does tend to keep to itself, but if someone brings authentic knowledge with them they'll be warmly received).

They trained me in their ways to become a Magus, and am now beginning to be sent to explore the world and find out knowledge to bring back to them (one of a few adopted and appropriately trained offspring to do this). Currently on assignment to find relics, spells and knowledge pertaining to late elven magi Auriel Sunherald.

I have a personal trinket, which is a topaz gemstone marked with the all seeing eye (symbol of Paletius). I tend to receive messages from the Conclave from time to time with additional instructions/training.

I know little of my heritage, beyond that I am a distant ancestor of a Gelagon mating with a human some generations ago (as told by my masters). although my masters are keen to know more about where I come from. My devotion to Paletius/seeking of knowledge

Cloak of Human Appearance: Unlike a standard hat of disguise which is a pure illusion, leaving for example, horns, wings and tails intact and able to be felt, this cloak does involve some minor transmutation, disguising the presence of horns, tails, wings, hooves, and even extra limbs by folding them into the new form. Mechanically speaking this means it would work on a minotaur or a centaur for example. The base creature does at least have to be humanoid in nature though. It wouldn't work on a cow or a dragon or a gelatinous cube.

Couple of things.
Copying spells from other wizard's spellbooks requires a spellcraft check for each spell and costs money and would be considered "wealth" (ie you pay for them out of your starting gold). If you roll a fail on the check you still pay the gold. So the cost of the spell will essentially be how many rolls it takes before you pass for that given spell. We'll waive the additional fees as the Conclave would likely provide you access for free.

Note also, level 2 spells take up two pages in your book. Although you know all cantrips, these too take up a page in your book so you might not wanna have all of them written in there, maybe simply pick a handful you might actually use. Up to you.

Next, spell prep. Your spells per day is what you have prepared and usable. You have 3 level 1s PER DAY + 2 for high int for a total of 5 yet have an asterisk next to ten of them? You also need to prepare 4 cantrips (which you can then cast infinitely, think of them as autorefreshing slots). Level 2s seem correct provided you can pass the spellcraft for the extra spell.

Spells known:
I've boiled down the spell list to be more reasonable. I added a few more given the background as it would be prudent for Viales to copy some spells from the Conclave before leaving. I apologise here as I appreciate I pushed it a bit far here.

According to the Magus class: "A magus begins play with a spellbook containing all 0-level magus spells plus three 1st-level magus spells of his choice. The magus also selects a number of additional 1st-level magus spells equal to his Intelligence modifier to add to his spellbook. At each new magus level, he gains two new magus spells of any spell level or levels that he can cast (based on his new magus level) for his spellbook. At any time, a magus can also add spells found in other spellbooks to his own."

Based on this, spells known at first level is all level 0 + 8 level 1 (5 from +5 int mod, 3 from start). Each level up, I get 2 new spells so by level 4 I get an additional 6.

So by this point, I know all cantrips + 14 spells of either level 1 or 2 (plus 3 more based on my initial sentence).

I forgot about the additional from high int, so I've factored that in. It's also been a while since I played a proper spellcaster (factotum in 3.5 has a different set up), so I thought it was an allowance I could spend on any spell I prepared (rather than the other way around). I've reworked this.

Also, the number of spells I can cast is six level 0, four level 1 and two level 2 (4,3,1 from Magus level four and 2,1,1 bonus from my +5 int mod)

Nope, by this point you know 12 level 1 spells and 2 spells of either level 1 or 2.
Specifically, the 8 starting level 1 spells, two more at level 2, two more at level 3, and then two more at level 4 at which point level 2s become available to choose from.

As I said, you can then have copied further spells into your book whilst at the Conclave, provided that the following are true.
A. You have sufficient space in your book.
B. You roll spellcraft and pay gold until successful as per the rules on adding spells into your book from another wizard's spellbook.

You also still have 6 level 1s marked as prepped when the limit is 5. You also need to specify which 4 cantrips you have prepped.

I knew doing this after the day I've had wouldn't end well...
For simplicity's sake I'll stick to the base values for spells known

I mis-added the values, so yes spell levels per day I can cast: four level 0, five level 1 and two level 2.
Spells known: all cantrips, twelve level 1 and two level 2

We'll get there eventually
