You guys wanna just play something?

While we wait for Gryndl to reappear and take G2 off hiatus, do you fancy playing something shorter? Specifically, Grodech, Crabain and Ricochet (others are welcome if you're here).

I have something specific in mind, a simple one shot, level 7. You would be playing minions of the dragon Karrthragoth. Karr for short, not to his face. In fact it may be best you just call him Master. Whilst averting your eyes. See your motivation here is simple. Do what Karrthragoth wants or Karrthragoth will eat you. You can't stop him. He's a freaking dragon and you, you're just a kobold or a goblin or, well you get the picture, I'm open to creatures that could conceivably find themselves in service to the dragon. Hobgoblin, lizardfolk, bugbear, gnoll, maybe even an ogre. You don't need much of a backstory. Karrthragoth doesn't care about your backstory. He knows who you are and where your family are and how delicious they will be if you try to run away.
Hell, just so we're clear, you might even succeed in your mission and still get eaten. So you know, feel free to make your character inept if the concept of being eaten amuses you. :D

Karr is a black dragon and evil, obviously. Figured i might throw that detail in, along with pointing out we're in 3.5e.

Haven't decided the best way to handle equipment yet, if we do go ahead. What do you think is more fun? Giving you appropriate WBL, or everyone gets +1 armour and weapon and one interesting magical item provided by Karr?

Yeah. I'd advise keeping things fairly simple as it won't be a long enough game for payoff of complex character concepts. It's just a little fun to keep people engaged while we wait for the actual campaign to get going, otherwise everyone will drift off and we'll be dead again when Gryndl gets back. XD

Plus it's good practice for me, one shots aren't my strong point so I need all the practice I can get.

So yeah, simple, straightforward, derpy, stinky, delicious minions. XD

I can probably toss something in, though I won't be available to work on a character until Monday. Some sort of lizardfolk ranger maybe. FE elves and/or humans?

I can't say for definite what you will and won't fight cos I have a few options but the most likely, in no particular order are, Humanoid (Human), Humanoid (Aquatic), Humanoid (Goblinoid), Humanoid (Reptilian), Humanoid (Orc).

That's 3 people confirmed so that's a go ahead to make some chars. Still room if anyone else wants in.

I'm still up for it. I'm moving over the weekend so I'll need to start the character Monday as well, but I don't think it'll take me too long.

Thinking about either a cleric or some kind of support caster like a wizard or bard that considers Karrthragoth a soon-to-be god (even if he might actually get his divine spells just from pure alignment or something), worships the every word that comes out of his mouth, and gets really preachy and quotes his every word repeatedly with no thoughts of his own. Some kinda super-minion. Won't go too overboard if its just a oneshot, might be a bit stereotypical. Maybe a warlock with Karrthragoth as his patron? Can't remember how 3.5e warlocks work, 5e has completely changed my perception of them.

Probably Kobold will match, but I'll look around for anything else fun and not too weird.

I think the warlock patron thing was the big change 5e brought in, making you commit to someone like a cleric does. In 3.5e it's simply mentioned that they often champion dark, chaotic powers but ultimately they are functionally cha based spellcasters like sorcs just with dark flavour.

Either way, I'm happy having Karr be the source of your power for a one shot, either as the cleric or the warlock. Both are a fun idea and a kobold cleric of a dragon is particularly fitting. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

So far it looks like we have, a ranger, a rogue or similar and a support caster. Pretty well rounded.

I like the idea of the DM giving gear to the characters instead of 'buying' them ourselves. Simpler for a one shot.

Also, where and how do we roll for the abilities? I already figured out feats and the general idea and such but I would like to work out the details, like skills and playing a rogue I need all the time I can get. Last time I rolled in the Dice tester but I don't think I was suppose to.

I've requested area 1 but honestly, if you don't wanna wait, you can just use your OOC thread in area 2, no skin off my nose.
